Lotus Flower

Lotus Flower

Today I went to the Buddhist temple in NZ for a class trip. At the Buddhist temple I made a lotus flower. One of the men at the Buddhist temple gave me a cardboard sheet that had the parts that I needed to make the lotus flower. There was five parts needed for the lotus flower. At the temple the man gave us an important fact about the lotus flower, he said that lotus flowers only grow in muddy water.

The Lego Story

The Lego Story

Lego is a plastic brick or block that can strengthen a child's imagination.
It also comes in many shapes, colours and sizes.

Lego was invented by Ole Kirk Christiansen.
Ole lived in Billund in Denmark where he owned his own shop in 1932.
He lived with his four sons and his wife. Ole was a hard working carpenter.

Ole was inspired by a plastic moulding machine and a plastic block
that he saw at a show. When Ole got the plastic moulding machine in
1946 he couldn't take his mind off the plastic block that he got at the show.
Ole remade the plastic block into the famous plastic brick that the whole world knows now.

Ole was very successful because he made the highest quality toys
but unfortunately Ole died in 1958. That left Godtfred to continue
Lego by himself. There was a fire at the shop and burnt most of the
wooden toys. Godtfred still didn't give up, just like his Dad he rebuilt
Lego but he only focused on the Lego bricks instead of the wooden toys.
Godtfred was also really successful in Lego just like his Dad and didn’t
give up on the company.

Till this very day the Lego company still go by the old motto that “
the best is only good enough because children deserve the best.”

Reflections Maths T2 W3

Reflections Maths T2 W3

1.I know the symbols of inequality > = <. I like to think of these symbols > < as crocodile mouths. They always face the bigger number.

2.  I also know equivalent fractions. Equivalent fractions are e.g take 2/4 and 3/6 they both have the same value they are just spelt and said differently.

3.I know how to spell fractions in words e.g 1/3 = one-third
3/10 = three-tenth
1/2 = one half
1/1 = 1 whole
5/7 = five-seventh
3/5 = three-fifth.
